A Comprehensive Golf Club Software Study: Industry Leaders Release Key Technology Insights


A landmark research project commissioned by leading golf industry trade bodies has unveiled crucial national data on software technology usage across golf clubs in the UK and Ireland. The study, commissioned in July 2024, brings together the collective expertise of the Golf Club Managers Association (GCMA), The Golf Club Secretary, Scottish Golf Club Managers Association (SGCMA), UK Golf Federation (UKGF), and Club Management Association of Ireland (CMAI).

The research, developed by Players 1st in consultation with Golf Genius representatives, surveyed 134 golf club managers, examining various aspects of software technology implementation and performance at their clubs.

The questions were designed by our industry experts to showcase the willingness of stakeholders to increase their knowledge of the technology landscape, but also to lift the lid on the service supplied by software providers. The results show a strong demand to use software to improve the member experience through operational efficiency, which is possible only when the right infrastructure is in place to support the decision makers at these golf clubs.

The comprehensive report includes key findings on average software implementation times, supplier responsiveness to improvement requests, and value assessment of current solutions.
