- Start-Up Watch: Handicaddie
For Graham Curry, CEO and founder of Handicaddie, caddying is second nature. He picked up golf at 14 and was already working as a caddie by 16. It’s no surprise that by the time he was in University, Curry had become a caddie manager. His experience as caddie manager at Kingsbarn Golf Links in Scotland provided him with the necessary insights into issues that could be solved with technology. There was just one problem—Curry knew very little about the technical side of things.
"I had a software idea, and I was like, how am I going to build this, if I don't know how to code?"

Enter co-founder, Jaime Kee, who has been building products for tech start-ups in Northern Ireland for over 10 years. Though they had moved in the same circles for years, it was Kee who reached out on LinkedIn, offering to help build the first version of the software.
Getting the platform off the ground was the biggest challenge, but with Kee on board, momentum quickly followed. Today, Handicaddie is used by golf courses across the US and UK. The feedback from both clubs and caddies has been very positive. Caddie managers, who once spent 4–5 hours juggling calls and texts, can now complete scheduling in just 3–4 minutes, allocating more time to other revenue-generating tasks such as upselling at the proshop, booking more tee times, or teaching more lessons.
Less Juggling, More Golf: Why Clubs and Caddies Love It
Curry’s decade of caddying helped him design his platform with caddies in mind. Caddies now enjoy being able to preplan their daily life without constantly waiting for a phone call or text that may or may not lead to a booking.
“I think they enjoy the convenience of being able to get a job through their phone.” Additionally, Curry believes that caddies are an invaluable part of the golfing experience, “Investing in your caddie program is a signal to your members that you are caring about them, it’s a phenomenal touch for the membership, and it’s a really important touchpoint. I’m team caddie all the way.”
Handicaddie’s Next Big Swing
Though there may be other up-and-coming caddie scheduling services, Curry stands confidently amongst his competitors.
“I’ve lived the experience of being a caddie manager, I know the workflows from right when they get into work to when they leave, because I’ve done it 500 times, so I know exactly where the pain is coming up. I think my insights and our product are going to be unique compared to someone who hasn’t done the role, and the role of caddie as well. I’ve been both users in this perspective.”

This is why Handicaddie continues to innovate in ways that increase the return on investment for general managers and is a companion for the caddie managers. Handicaddie’s next innovation: a feature that anticipates a caddie manager’s preferences before they even touch the tool. When asked how this may work, Curry responded, “All will be revealed in the late 2025.” Until then, clubs and caddies alike can only wait to see how Handicaddie’s next move reshapes their game.
